Hey! My fascination with novels nowadays is allowing me to write a short story about some crap stuff. This is still a prototype so it might suck a little. Thanks.
Chapter One
“Hey hey! Did you hear? Rin has a boyfriend!” June excitedly chirped.
Boyfriend? That useless bump of a Rin has a BOYFRIEND? Shocked, the only things I was able to say was “No way~ So, who is he? A nerd? Haha, I bet only nerds want her! “
“ Heehee, I know! And he’s so HAWT. From class 1-8 you know. The class for nerds…”
Really? This I got to see. Of course, I wouldn’t be so low as to stalk her, right? Everytime Rin gets a boyfriend she’ll definitely show us who that ‘lucky‘ person it is. Just then, Rin appeared.
“Yo! Look at my new boyfriend, ain’t he hot?” Rin nearly shouted, giving a smile like a thousand cheery blossoms blossoming.
Truth be told, he did look hot, but still… There was a cold face I could sense from that smile he was giving out. Looking at me intently, his grin stretched even further, giving the impression that he was the Cheshire cat from Alice In Wonderland.
“A pleasure to meet you, Miku. My name is Kaito. I hope in future I will have the honor of meeting you,” He winked his eyes at me. Ah, now I know how Rin became smitten with Kaito.
“A pleasure to meet you as well, Kaito. However, I think your girlfriend will die of jealousy if you continue talking to me,” I coldly replied.
Kaito looked shock at my reply, looked at Rin, who was showing no sign of a change in emotions, smiled at me in a kindly manner, nodded once and left with her.
Over the days that followed, I noticed that Rin was starting to have a slightly stressed out face. In fact, she was literally looking green. I frowned, trying to find the cause of it. Don’t tell me, its Kaito? That bastard, if he breaks Rin’s heart, I’m going to kill him.
The next day, Rin did not come for school. Mr.Otobu, our homeroom teacher, was surprised at why our 100% attendance girl wasn’t there that day. June and I started walking towards the cafeteria, when Kaito suddenly appeared.
“Hello,” Kaito smiled amiably at us. “Might I have a word with Miku?” He nodded to June. June, always the one to give in, nodded weakly and left quickly.
“Now, with that out of the way, we can finally talk in peace,” Kaito smiled at me.
What the hell did you mean by that? I glared at Kaito. What a jerk, I thought. Kaito looked at me with mild amusement. His smile widened.
“Now, Miku~” Kaito crooned. How disgusting. “I know you’re very concerned about your friend,” He continued, emphasizing on very. “However, I am not interested in, hmm, what’s her name again… Ah! Rin, yes. I am playing with her! Of course, I am interested in you, miku.”
“DON’T JOKE AROUND!” I screamed at Kaito, my voice reaching an octave up. “Just because you’re handsome doesn’t mean you can play with my friend!”
Curious people were looking now. Boiling anger surged through my veins. Kaito, looking abashed, stared at me like I was crazy or something. He recovered I probably 2 seconds though, and he smirked.
“Heh, bad temper eh? So! You really want to protect your friends huh? Anyway, its over between me and your friend!” Kaito laughed and walked off.
Damn it! How can he be such a jerk? I scowled and went up to the 5th storey of the school compound. Ahh, my little paradise when I’m troubled. I sat on there for the entire 6th and 7th period.
That night, when I watched the news, something surprising came out.

“H-h-hello?” A shy voice answered.
“Eh! You didn’t come to school today, what happened?”
“Kaito, he… He… said I was fat and quarreled with me! He seemed so kind before, why would he do that?”
Why, indeed!
“H-he broke up with me! Just after a few days! Please, Miku, tell me what I should do!”
“Just give up on a jerk. Find someone decent, will you?” I replied, irritably.
“*Sniff sniff* I’m sorry Miku! Really, I am. I shouldn’t have trusted this idiot…”
I sighed. “Its okay Rin, you’re too young to start dating anyway… Just choose wisely in future…”
The next day I decided to tell kaito-the-brat what I think about him. However, I could not find him. Feeling irritated, I went back to class.
“Oi Miku! We’ve received a letter from the School Council!” Said Kuu, our class representative.
“…..I see. And?”
“Umm, it says that everyone has to join a club or activity of some sort, and it seems that you’re the only one in our class who has yet to join one, so…” Mumbled Kuu, his stance faltering under my glare.
“I see. How do I join a club?” I replied curtly.
“Ahh, you have to go to the hall where the clubs are showcasing their stuff for you to see…” Kuu replied, relieved that I didn’t snap at him.
So this means that there’s a lot of people who hasn’t join a club? THEN WHATS THE POINT OF MAKING IT COMPULSORY, YOU CHINKS? I scowled at everybody. Naturally, they shrank back. Because of my scowls, I seem to look very scary. Only Rin and June dare to approach me. They’re my true friends. Friends that treat you well no matter who or what you are. Salute to you, ladies!
After 9th period, I left with my bag and went to the hall for the stupid club thing. Looking around at the students, it seemed as though two thirds of the entire school had not join a single club. Now, the club I’m particularly interested in is the Kendo club. Still, it only accepts boys. I took a look around. Since I couldn’t join the Kendo club, I decided to join a club which had the least amount of members. Ahhh, then I could be a shadow member!
Huh, looks like everyone is interested in sports and music. Lets see. I spotted the Literature club. I walked over it. A girl was there sitting down and reading a book. Feeling curious, I decided to approach her.
“Hi. How many members does this club have?” I asked.
“Only four,” She replied. “Need one more member. Join.”
Feeling amused, I decided to join the Literature Club.
“You may come any time you wish. Club room is at the Second Floor, beside the Library,” the girl silently said.
Chuckling silently, I would never think that joining that club as a shadow member would be so convenient! Feeling relaxed with no pressures at all, I headed home.
